Had the opportunity to check out at Goapele on Tuesday, October 24th. Last time I saw her was in June for my birthday week if I’m not mistaken. Took myself to the show and had an amazing time.

This time around I went with some friends. The opening act was an afro beat group by the name of Wunmi & (band) Soul Commotion. Amazing! Just amazing. I am glad I showed up in time to see their set. Full of energy and good vibes. I’m definitely a fan. You can find Wunmi & her band online at www.wunmi.com.

Goapele came out in her pretty polka dot dress and cute shoes…looking fab! She did some faves and of course she did some new stuff. It was after all the album release show. Great album, as expected. Ngozi from SocietyHAE asked me to come through Dekalb Market this past Sunday and shoot her Afrika21 event. Aside from practically eating from every pop up food spot, shopping at every pop up shop I spent my Sunday afternoon with some talented African artists.

Check out a few photos of Khali Abdu from Nigeria, electro-dancehall artist Sheba from Ethiopia, and 2011 South African Music Award winner, singer Nomsa Mazwai.
